How does sunless tanning change my skin color?
Sun Spray uses a DHA solution that only affects dead skin cells, it will do nothing to live skin cells, reacting only with proteins to turn them brown. The immediate coloring is from a non-transdermal tinting, that washes away when you shower, only leaving your natural looking tan to be enjoyed....
According to the American Academy of Dermatology, the most effective products available are sunless or self tanning lotions that contain DHA (dihydroxyacetone) as an active ingredient. DHA is a colorless sugar that reacts with the dead cells located on statum corneum of the epidermis, causing those skin cells to color. This usually lasts 5-11 days from the initial application of DHA.
Skin cells shed normally every two weeks.
How long will my airbrush Tan last?
Each person sheds their skin at different rates, you can expect your tan to last on average anywhere 5-11 days.
Will I smell funny?
There is no fragrance added to Sun Spray Solutions. And the base for the solution is aloe, not soap as in most solutions so there is only one reaction happening on the skin and that is the DHA.
Some people may notice a slight odor on the skin, as this is a chemical reaction from the DHA producing color on their skin. This quickly goes away after a shower.
How Long will it take?
Less than 5 minutes...it will take longer to get undressed and dressed than to tan, and you can immediately get dressed afterwards and go on with your day.
